The Medallion system remains in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2, albeit in a more limited form. Unlike Chapter 5, where multiple medallions were available at launch, this season only features one at the start of each match, the Unstoppable Medallion. This unique item provides an exclusive power-up, making it a valuable asset in every game. However, obtaining it isn’t as straightforward as before, as its spawn location changes with each match.
Locating the Unstoppable Medallion
The Unstoppable Medallion is tied to the boss character Fletcher Kane, who spawns in a different location in every game. To track him down, keep an eye on the mini-map where a medallion icon will appear, signaling its current location. Fletcher Kane can spawn in one of the following areas:
- Masked Meadows
- Lonewolf Lair
- Crime City
- The Train
However, the boss won’t appear immediately. Instead, he spawns only after a vault has been triggered during a heist. Players must initiate and progress through the heist event before encountering him.
Defeating Fletcher Kane
Once the vault event is underway, Fletcher Kane will emerge as the final challenge. The fight consists of two phases:
- First Phase: Fletcher Kane behaves like a standard NPC, relying on ranged attacks and moderate movement. At this stage, players can focus on depleting his shield.
- Second Phase: Once his shield breaks, he transforms into a werewolf-like form, using powerful melee attacks similar to the old Fortnite Nightmares werewolf ability. His lunging combo can deal significant damage if players don’t maintain distance.
The best strategy to counter his melee attacks is to build defensive structures, blocking his charges. After executing his combo, he will pause to howl, leaving him vulnerable to gunfire. Players can use this opening to land heavy damage and finish him off quickly.
What Does the Unstoppable Medallion Do?
Upon defeating Fletcher Kane, players receive the Unstoppable Medallion, granting them enhanced movement speed and knockback resistance. Unlike the Nitro power-up, this effect does not destroy structures, allowing for better control in combat situations. Additionally, the medallion’s effects stack with other in-game buffs, including:
- Gold Rush effect (from gold pickups)
- Increased stamina regeneration (from certain melee weapons like the bat)
This stacking capability allows for extremely fast movement, making the medallion a must-have for players looking to dominate end-game battles.
With its unique mechanics and unpredictable spawn location, the Unstoppable Medallion is one of the most sought-after items in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2. Securing it early in a match can provide a significant advantage, giving players a better shot at a Victory Royale.
