The current Fortnite season has taken a creative leap with cosmetics, going beyond traditional back bling to soon include shoes as a customizable option. However, there’s been a delay—Epic Games just announced that the release of Fortnite shoes has been postponed, meaning they won’t arrive this week as previously expected.
Although the shoes were featured in the Battle Pass, they’re being held back at the last minute. This unique type of cosmetic, which allows players to add shoes to any skin, has sparked curiosity about how it will function in-game. Now, with confirmation that the shoes won’t be part of the upcoming Ice Spice update, players will have to wait a bit longer. Still, other Battle Pass rewards are available soon, and players will be able to pre-unlock certain skins.
Fortnite Shoes Delay Announced
Epic has made several big announcements recently, including confirming the Fortnite OG return. Now, they’ve shared that the new shoe cosmetic won’t be available immediately. Most players aren’t too disappointed by the delay, as it’s a new type of cosmetic that hasn’t been part of the game before.
While the shoes included in the Battle Pass won’t disappear, players who unlock them still won’t be able to use them until the system is fully implemented. This addition will take a bit more time to integrate into the game.
It was clear from the start that the shoes wouldn’t be available for every skin right away, particularly for the more unconventional characters that may require additional adaptation. However, players with standard hitbox skins will likely have access to the shoes sooner.
The new shoes are definitely on their way, and Epic aims to release them soon enough for players to enjoy before Chapter 6 arrives.
