In the 2024 Pokémon Go Halloween event, Froakie and Rowlet are sporting special Halloween costumes—and both have a chance of appearing shiny.
One exciting feature of these costumed Pokémon is that they can actually evolve, unlike some other costumed Pokémon that remain in their basic forms. However, if you’re aiming for competitive Decidueye and Greninja, you’ll want them to have their exclusive Community Day moves: Frenzy Plant for De
cidueye and Hydro Cannon for Greninja. To get these moves, you may need to use an Elite TM.
Shiny Rate for Halloween Froakie and Rowlet
During the Halloween 2024 Part 2 event, Rowlet and Froakie obtained from 7 km eggs or raids have an increased shiny rate, though the exact rate is currently unknown. When found in the wild, however, they follow the standard shiny rate—about one in 500. So if you’re shiny hunting during Spotlight Hour, the usual shiny odds will apply.
Tips for Attracting More Shiny Pokémon
Shiny Pokémon appearances are mostly random, as their encounter rates are set by Niantic and generally only boosted during events like Community Days, Safari Zones, or in Legendary Raids. Unfortunately, there are no items that increase shiny encounter rates.
