Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Prestige and Rewards Explained

Prestige in Call of Duty is an all-time staple for online multiplayer. From Cod4, all the way up to now Black Ops 6, prestige has always been a great grind for players. Black Ops 6 has reverted to the classic prestige system this year, enabling you to enter the next prestige upon completion of level 55.

What is Prestige is Call of Duty Black Ops 6?

Gaining a psychological edge over opponents in Call of Duty can be a game-changer in multiplayer matches. While sharp aim, smart loadouts, and refined skills are key to victory, intimidating your enemies before a shot is fired can set you up for dominance.

One effective way to do this is by showing off your Prestige level in Black Ops 6, a signal of your skill and dedication. Returning to a classic progression system, Black Ops 6 now detaches Prestige from live-service seasons, much to the delight of longtime players. Here’s a rundown of how Prestige works in the latest game and what it means for your progress.

Understanding Prestige in Black Ops 6

In Call of Duty, Prestige reflects your overall player level, showcasing your experience and hours invested. Starting at level one with no Prestige, you can “Prestige” upon reaching level 55, resetting your level and unlocking, but gaining a new Prestige icon next to your name. This progression spans Black Ops 6 multiplayer, Warzone, and Zombies, so you can build your Prestige across game modes.

There are ten Prestige levels available, after which you can advance to “Prestige Master” and unlock an additional 1,000 levels to grind. Along the way, you’ll earn unique cosmetic items such as operator skins and blueprints, with each Prestige featuring rewards themed around iconic CoD games—Prestige One, for example, nods to Call of Duty: World at War, with an STG blueprint variant for the Model L assault rifle.

What Resets What Doesn’t Reset
Player Level Weapon progression, camos, and attachments
Level Unlocks (excluding operators, emotes, GobbleGums, and permanent unlocks) Weapon class builds (weapons will be locked until you have achieved the correct level or permanently unlocked it)
Loadouts Call of Duty Store and Battle Pass content
Stats outside of your combat record (non-combat record statistics will be shown only for your current prestige) Challenge progress and unlocks
Operators and emotes that you have unlocked
GobbleGums (zombies)
Permanently unlocked class items or weapons

As you level up, you’ll unlock new weapons, perks, and gear to craft optimal Black Ops 6 loadouts. Though you’ll lose access to these items upon each Prestige reset, weapon levels, operators, challenge progress, and customizations remain saved, ready to be accessed again. Plus, each Prestige grants a ‘permanent unlock’ token, letting you permanently access one chosen item regardless of level resets.

Warzone-only players also earn rewards but at a reduced rate compared to Black Ops 6 owners. If you eventually get Black Ops 6, any Warzone rewards you missed will automatically be unlocked, no worries about missing out.
